Vauxhall Sintra Overview
The Vauxhall Sintra is classed as a large MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle) and is produced by the British automobile manufacturing company Vauxhall Motors. Vauxhall is a subsidiary of the German company Opel which is part of General Motors. This vehicle had a short life from 1996-99. The Sintra has mostly been long forgotten as they were known for their unreliability and unappealing image. On the upside, they are practical and spacious, and the V6 engine is pretty good. Vauxhall Sintra History
The Sintra (1996-99) was manufactured by General Motors and is almost identical to the short wheel base version of the Chevrolet Venture. It was built in America and imported to Europe where it was sold as the Opel Sintra on the continent and the Vauxhall Sintra in the UK. This vehicle was built on the second generation U platform and engines were imported from Opel Europe to fit into these vehicles. The Sintra could seat from 5 – 8 people. The Sintra had major unreliability issues with very poor safety scores in the Euro safety tests. This led to it only having a short lifetime and being discontinued in 1999.

The Vauxhall Sintra had 2.2 and 3.0L petrol engines and a 2.2L diesel engine as options. The 2.2L diesel engine was the more economical and offered up to 35mpg.
