Vauxhall Vivaro Overview

The Vauxhall Vivaro is classed as a mid sized commercial van and is produced by the British manufacturing company Vauxhall Motors. The Vauxhall version is only marketed in the UK, it is known as the Opel Vivaro in continental Europe. The Vivaro is basically a rebadged Renault Trafic, and it came into production in the second generation if the Trafic in 2001. The Vivaro offers a good range of economical engines; it also looks good and is a good choice for a van of this type. Dose this sound like your Vivaro?

Vauxhall Vivaro History

The Vivaro came about as a joint venture with Nissan, Renault and Opel to create the van which is sold under the following names: Nissan Primastar, Renault Trafic and Opel Vivaro. In the UK the Opel Vivaro is sold as the Vauxhall Vivaro, as Vauxhall is the UK subsidiary of Opel.

The first Vivaro was produced in 2001 at GM manufacturing in Luton and is where both the Opel and Vauxhall versions are produced. You can get both long and short wheel base versions which come in various models. In 20006 the Vivaro had a little makeover, mainly affecting the positioning of the indicator lights and alterations to the engines. In 2011 the Vivaro e-Concept ecoflex electric hybrid version was released.
