Volkswagen Fox Overview

The Volkswagen Fox is classed as a city car which is produced by the German automobile company Volkswagen. The Fox has been in production since 2003 and has been sold in South America since 2004 and Europe since 2005. This vehicle replaced the Lupo in Europe and is a small hatchback car which has a few other versions derived from it. There are mini SUV and mini MPV versions called the CrossFox and SpaceFox. The Fox ceased production in 2011 in Europe to be replaced with the VW Up. The Fox is good for driving around town but lacks the performance for anything else. They are very good in terms of fuel economy, are reliable and are practical little cars. They are quite comfortable, but are not very well equipped or don't have the best handling. Does this sound like your experience of the Fox?

Volkswagen Fox History

The Volkswagen Fox was first produced in 2003, but never reached the European market until 2005. It is built on Volkswagen's PQ24 platform and replaced the VW Lupo. The Fox name first appeared on the NSU Fox in 1949 and Volkswagen bought the name from them in 1969. These cars scored pretty well in the Euro safety tests, 4 out of 5 stars. To keep prices down Volkswagen came up with a long options list, where buyers could specify what features they wanted. This vehicle is still on the market in South America but it ceased production in Europe in 2011, to be replaced by the Volkswagen Up.
