BMW 530d Overview
The BMW 530d is classed as a mid-sized executive car and is produced by the German automobile manufacturing company BMW. The 530d is part of the BMW 5-series range and the naming system for BMW cars means the first number is for the series, 5 for 5-series and the last two digits represent the engine size, 30 for 3.0L. The 5 millionth 5 series was built in 2008 and this car was a 530d. The 530d is an excellent choice out of the 5-series range with great performance and not to bad fuel economy. BMW 530d History
The BMW 320d was first introduced for the E39 (1995-2003) 5-series model. This was the fourth generation of the 5-series. The M57 engine used for the 2.5-3.0L versions of this car won international engine of the year from 1999-2002. This version of the 5-series was very popular was the leading car of its class. These diesel engines were extremely economical and run very smoothly.
The E60/E61 (2003-10) was the fifth generation 5-series model. The design for this car took it away from traditional BMW design and received mixed reviews from the press and public. However, this didn’t stop it from becoming the most popular 5-series model to date. This version was so much more technologically advanced than any of its predecessors.
The F10/F11 (2010-present) resorted back to more familiar BMW design features. Ironically this now received reviews saying it was to bland compared with its predecessor the E60. There is just no pleasing some people! This is the current version in production.
