Skoda have announced plans to build a large 7-seater SUV. Pictures have been released by Design RM of what they expect the new vehicle to look like, which are pictured to the right.

The Czech Republic automobile manufacturing company are set to make this vehicle their flagship vehicle and there have been reports that it will be called the Skoda Snowman. How true these reports are, we do not know.

This new vehicle will be built on the popular Volkswagen MBQ platform and is expected to measure in at around 4.6m long. It is expected that this vehicle will be engineered along with the Volkswagen CrossBlue SUV which is also to be built on the VW MQB platform. The CrossBlue is set to be released in 2015.

In terms of engines for the new Skoda SUV, they will range from a 1.6L 4-cylinder petrol up to a 2.0L engine. It is expected that the 2.0L engine will be the largest engine available. It will be a front wheel drive but the higher trims will have the option of AWD (All Wheel Drive).

The new Skoda SUV is set to begin production towards the end of 2015 and will be built at the Skoda Kvasiny production factory in the Czech Republic.

This vehicle will compete with the likes of the Hyundai ix35 and Kia Sorento in the European market and the Hyundai Santa Fe and Toyota Fortuner in Asia.
