Nissan Primera Overview

The Nissan Primera is a large family car that was produced by the Japanese automobile manufacturer Nissan from 1990-2008. This car was only available in the Japanese and European markets. These are family cars which are good to drive. They are very spacious inside and have a distinctive look, especially the final production model. They are available in estate, saloon and hatchback versions.

Nissan Primera History

The first generation P10 (1990-95) was a replacement for the ageing Nissan Bluebird. This was a front wheel drive car that was mainly designed to hit the European market. In the US it was named the Nissan Infiniti G20, to go with other Infiniti branded Nissans.

The second generation P11 (1995-2002) was known for its multi-link suspension on both front and rear wheels. A version of this car won the 1999 British Touring Car Championships. In 1999 the Nissan Primeria received a makeover which mainly affected the front end, incorporating the familiar Nissan ‘wing’ grille.

The third generation P12 (2002-2008) was the final version of the Primera to be produced. This new radical design changed the look of the Primera and sales soon fell, which meant the withdrawal of production in 2008.
