Peugeot 305 Overview

The Peugeot 305 is classed as a small family car which was produced by the French automobile manufacturing company Peugeot. The 305 was in production from 1977 to 1989 when it was replaced by the Peugeot 309. These cars were styled by the Italian designers Pininfarina, giving a fresh look, which was somewhat like the BMW 3-series of the time. This design also took safety into consideration with anti-crumple zones etc. These cars were very spacious, especially the estate version for storage. As the looks were not that stylish it could put people off, but they were very practical, economical and good to drive. They were not the quickest but were not bad over long distances. Does this sound like your experience of this car?

Peugeot 305 History

The Peugeot 305 was introduced in 1977 in Europe and was the first Peugeot car to use the 05 naming system. It was speculated amongst the press that it would be called the 405 as a replacement for the 404, but against popular belief it was introduced as the 305. These cars were slightly larger than most competitors in the small family car sector. In 1983 the 2nd series 305 was released with a new front end, updated interior design and improvements to the steering and suspension. These cars ceased production in 1989 to be replaced by the Peugeot 309.
