Alfa Romeo 145 Overview

The Alfa Romeo 145 is a small family car built by the Italian motor company Alfa Romeo. Alfa Romeo cars are known for their style and class, but are also known for their unreliability, this model is no different. The turning circle on the vehicle is poor, the interior is not the greatest but the body work is galvanised to keep rust to a minimum. If you are willing to put up with some of these design faults for a drive of a more stylish vehicle then this could be the car for you.

Alfa Romeo 145 History

The Alfa Romeo 145 (1994-2001) was first built to replace the Alfa Romeo 33. They wanted a stylish yet practical car that could compete in the small hatchback category of the market. The design was extremely Italian in nature, especially the interior. The interior had an innovative design and the vehicle was a 3-door hatchback. Its design was based on the Fiat Tipo. In 1996 a sportier version was released, called the ‘Cloverleaf’ and in 1997 the old style boxer engines were replaced with a twin spark engine which again made the car sportier in nature. The body design and interior had a slight alteration in 1999, changing the bumpers, mirrors and few other parts before it ceased production in 2001 and was replaced by the all new Alfa 147.

Fuel Economy

As the engine sizes vary from 1.4-2.0 and they come in both petrol and diesel, the economy is going to vary greatly. The actual economic rating of each model will be determined by the fuel type and engine size, with the lower sized petrol engines and the diesel engines being the more economic of this model of Alfa Romeo.
