Honda HRV Overview

The Honda HRV is classed as a mini SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) which is produced by the Japanese automobile manufacturing company Honda. This vehicle was in production from 1999 to 2006. HRV stands for Hi-rider Revolutionary Vehicle. This was considered to be one of the first crossover SUV's and is built on the same platform as the Honda Logo. These vehicles have a really good driving position and have very low emissions. They are very reliable, great fun to drive and the engines are good performers. The interior is not the best, they are not the most practical and are not very good off-road. There is no diesel engine available which didn't help sales. Does this sound like your experience of this vehicle?

Honda HRV History

The Honda HRV was first introduced in 1999 to meet demand for economical vehicles which have the features of an SUV. This vehicle was designed on the Honda Logo supermini platform and has what is considered as a strange looking exterior design. This vehicle slotted below the CRV which was based on the Civic. The HRV became very popular and met the demand for this type of vehicle. There was a facelift version introduced in 2002 which gave it both new exterior and interior designs. In 2003 the 3-door version was discontinued and the HRV was discontinued in 2006.
