Honda Passport Overview

The Honda Passport is classed as a compact SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) which was produced by the Japanese automobile manufacturing company Honda. This vehicle was in production from 1994 to 2002. The Passport was based on the Isuzu Rodeo and is a rebadged version of the Rodeo with some engineering alterations made by Honda. These vehicles are very spacious, comfortable and have a really good interior design. They are well built vehicles but don't have the best steering or don't perform to well off road. They are good on-road but the replacement parts were difficult to find. They are fairly reliable vehicles which are worth considering. Does this sound like your experience of this vehicle?

Honda Passport History

The Honda Passport was first introduced in 1994 and was part of a joint venture between Honda and Isuzu. These two companies had a deal where they would exchange vehicles and rebadge them where necessary. The Passport was taken from the Isuzu Rodeo with some alterations by Honda. It was produced over two generations, the first generation (1994-1997) and the second generation (1998-2002). The main differences between the first and second generations were that there was some new trim levels made available and there were two tone body colours available. In 2002 the Passport was discontinued as Isuzu and Honda ended their partnership and Honda went with their own designed Honda Pilot.

Model Types

Fuel Economy

The Honda Passport was available with 2.6 or 3.2L petrol engines. The smaller 2.6L was the more economical of the two but generally these engines weren't great in terms of fuel economy. Which engine did you have and how did it perform economically? Remember to think about the age, engine size and fuel type when considering fuel economy.
