Honda S2000 Overview

The Honda S2000 is classed as a roadster which was produced by the Japanese automobile manufacturers Honda Motor Company. It was first introduced in 1999 as a celebration for the 50th anniversary of Honda. This is named as the S2000 to indicate the size of the 2.0L engine inside the car. This car is a 2-seater roadster sports car which looks really stylish. There is not much room in the cabin of this car but they are great fun to drive. The 2.0L engine is very impressive and the car is extremely well engineered. These cars are reliable and great performers with really good handling. Does this sound anything like your experience of the Honda S2000?

Honda S2000 History

The first generation (1999-2003) was known as the AP1 which was the chassis name it was given. The car was a rear wheel drive; front mounted 2.0L engine which Honda claims has the best performance possible for a 2.0L engine. Due to the layout of the engine it gives the car a 50:50 weight distribution which helps give the great performance. These cars are fitted with standard soft top convertibles, but there is an aluminum hardtop version at an extra cost.

The second generation (2004-10) used the AP2 chassis name worldwide, although it wasn’t used in Europe but had the same changes made. There were improvements made to the interior, exterior and some mechanical parts such as the gearbox and suspension. There were slight changes made to the vehicle throughout the years but it ceased production in 2009.
