Kia Picanto Overview

The Kia Picanto is in the city car class and is produced by the South Korean car manufacturer: Kia Motors. This is probably one of the cheapest cars on the market and surprisingly has a very classy interior, even going as far to say that it’s probably the best in its class. Although it has this classy interior, the drivability leaves a lot to be desired and is something they could definitely improve on. This car comes with an amazing 7 year warranty.

Kia Picanto History

The Kia Picanto first generation SA (2004 – 2010) was introduced in 2004 and its design platform is based on a shortened version of the Hyundai Getz. It was launched in the UK on 27th May that year and was seen as a very competitive vehicle for the city car class.

In 2007 the European model had a bit of a makeover with the main changes happening to the front and rear lights. In the UK the indicator stalk was changed to the other side. The 2010 model was altered slightly to both the interior and exterior, but these changes only occurred on the Korean version.

The second generation TA (2011 - present ) had a re-design, making the vehicle slightly larger and longer than its predecessor. The engine range was altered slightly, and the 3-door version was for the European market only.
