Mercedes S320 Overview

The Mercedes S320 is classed as a full sized luxury car and is produced by the German automobile manufacturing company Mercedes-Benz which is part of Daimler AG. The S320 is part of the S-Class range which is Mercedes top of the range cars. The S320 has been part of the S-Class since 1998 up until the present day. These cars are big and very luxurious; in fact I would go as far to say that you won’t find a more luxurious car on the market. They are well refined, reliable, high performance cars. They are a great comfortable ride with plenty of space. They are very expensive to buy but the safety kit has some amazing features. Does this sound like your experience of the Mercedes S320?

Mercedes S320 History

The first time the S320 was introduced into the Mercedes S-Class was in 1998 under the W220 (1998-2005) model. This came at a time when the S-Class was completely redesigned, making it smaller than previous versions. This was following a new design theme throughout Mercedes car range. Ironically there was more space inside than the previous model and there was some new luxurious features added such as the new Distronic cruise control system. The S320 engine was a 3.2L V6 petrol engine.

The new W221 (2005-13) model was introduced in 2005 and was larger than the previous version. There was a new more luxurious interior design and sharper features on the exterior design. The S320 engine was no longer a 3.2L V6 petrol but now a 3.0L CDi diesel engine. The newly developed engines offered up to 26% more power. Production of this car will end in 2013.
