If you have ever owned a Nissan Vanette and had to replace any parts then please let us know about your experience. We would love to hear how the parts performed once fitted. Write a short in review in the comments box at the bottom of the page.

Nissan Vanette Overview

The Nissan Vanette is classed as a small panel van which is produced by the Japanese automobile manufacturing company Nissan Motors. There have been variations of the Vanette produced worldwide, but the version we are focusing on is the European version. This version is based on the people carrier Nissan Serena without the rear windows and seats. This was a good choice of a small panel van and was cheap to buy and run. It had sliding doors on the side which meant easy access to the rear. It has a good driving position but the wear on the seats was not good and could have had more storage space. Does this sound anything like your experience of the Nissan Vanette?

Nissan Vanette History

The Nissan Vanette for the European market was introduced in 1991 and was based on the Mk1 Nissan Serena. It was the Vanette E which shared exactly the same body as the Serena without the rear windows and seats. The Vanette Cargo had a longer wheel base and was also a bit higher, giving more storage room. LDV Limited came to an agreement with Nissan to market the LDV Cub using the same van. This vehicle was discontinued in 2001 and was replaced with the Nissan Primastar which was a rebadged Renault Trafic.

Fuel Economy

The Nissan Vanette was available in 1.6 or 2.0L petrol and a 2.3L diesel engine. The 2.3L diesel engine was the most economical of the available engines and you should remember to take into consideration the following factors when determining fuel economy for a vehicle: age, fuel type and engine size. Which engine did you have and how did it perform economically?

Transmission

The Nissan Vanette was available in both manual and automatic gearboxes. Which gearbox did you have and how did you rate its performance? You can find the gearbox parts for your Vanette at our Nissan gearbox section.
