Renault Scenic Overview

The Renault Megane Scenic was the initial name for the now familiar Renault Scenic, which became this vehicle's name soon after its entry into the market. This is a compact MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle) and was the first of its type in Europe. It is produced by the French car manufacturing company Renault. This car won European Car of the year in 1997, the year after its launch. This is a 5-seater MPV which is very spacious, and also available in a 7 seater, which is called the Grand Scenic. The Renault Scenic is good to drive and not too expensive to run.

Renault Scenic History

Originally the first generation (1996-2003) Scenic was called the Megane Scenic and was built on the same platform as the Megane and also shared all its mechanical parts. It was marketed as a compact MPV, below the Espace MPV and became more successful than Renault had ever imagined. When this vehicle had an improvement to the design features,  it was marketed as Renault Scenic.

The second generation Scenic II (2003-09) was introduced at the same time as the Megane II, and the Grand Scenic also became available as the 7 seater version. This vehicle had a slight makeover in 2006, which affected some interior and exterior parts.

The third generation Scenic III (2009 - present) is the current version in production. In 2012 there was again a slight makeover to the interior and exterior of the vehicle.
