Ford Kuga Overview

The Ford Kuga is an SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) and is now competing with the rest of the market in this class. This vehicle comes in both 4x4 and front wheel drive and is very good fun to drive. It can go from 0-60 in around 8 seconds, has great handling and steering and its design is based on the C1 Ford platform. It is quite an expensive vehicle to buy, but has many great features included.

Ford Kuga History

The Ford Kuga came into being early in 2008. When it was first introduced it only came in the 2.0 Diesel option and was designed more for road use that all terrain conditions. There are many vehicle following this trend, as in the UK this is where they are most commonly used. The 2.5 petrol version soon followed later that year, and was a powerful version of a compact 4x4 SUV vehicle.

The only major change to happen in the design of the Kuga is that the 2.0 diesel engine changed slightly in 2010. It was replaced and enhanced with a higher bhp engine of the same size, from 134 to 138bhp. The outward design has remained the same with its stylish curvy looking design.

Fuel Economy

As mentioned above the two engine sizes available are 2.0 Duratorq diesel engine and the 2.5 Duratec turbo petrol engine. The petrol engine is heavy on its fuel consumption and will cost you when driving this around. The diesel engine is a bit better but can still be costly. Overall conclusion is that the diesel engine would be a better choice of a more economical vehicle.
