Jaguar XF Overview

The Jaguar XF is classed as an executive car, produced by the British car manufacturing company Jaguar. This car was originally designed as a direct replacement for the Jaguar S-type. This car is very classy both inside and outside. It has a very spacious interior which is very well designed and the car has such good handling. Some of the available engines are not as efficient as some of the class rivals, but overall is highly competitive in this class.

Jaguar XF History

The Jaguar XF was first shown in 2007 at the Frankfurt motor show. It became available to the public in 2008 and the design was totally changed from its predecessor, the S-type. It is more similar in design to the C-XF but still retains some design characteristics of the S-type, like the chrome blade on the boot lid. The interior design is very class with modern attributes. It has touch sensitive lights, all models have leather interior and a flashy gearshift dial, named the JaguarDrive selector amongst other things.

A new makeover version was released in 2011 with some exterior design changes made to the car, to bring it more in-line with the C-XF as well as some changes to the interior and engine collection. A new 8-speed transmission was also made available.

Fuel Economy

There are various available engines for this car. The petrol options are: 3.0 V6, 4.2 V8, 5.0 V8 and there are also supercharged versions for the 4.2 and 5.0L. The diesel options are: 2.7 V6 and 3.0 V6. As mentioned above, this car is not as economical as some of its rivals, and these cars are not really designed for this purpose. The diesel options are the best economically, if this is what you are after.
