About Brake Master Cylinder

The Qashqai Nissan brake master cylinder is a crucial part of the vehicle’s braking system.  It is used to convert the mechanical force from the brake pedal into hydraulic pressure in order to stop the vehicle.  The brake system is split into two circuits and the pressure in each circuit is controlled by the Qashqai Nissan brake master cylinder.

The Qashqai Nissan brake master cylinder consists of two reservoirs for brake fluid and two pistons, and is attached to the brake lines.  When the driver depresses the brake pedal, this pushes on the first piston which causes pressure to build up in the Qashqai Nissan brake master cylinder.  As this pressure builds up it causes the second piston to compress the brake fluid.  This pressure should be even in both cylinders.  If it’s not, it is most likely caused by a leak.  In the case of a leak, the Qashqai Nissan brake master cylinder to operate using one piston.  This will cause the driver to have to press the brake pedal down further and further until eventually the brakes will fail.  Any damage to the Qashqai Nissan brake master cylinder should be minimised and the master cylinder should be repaired immediately.

Nissan Qashqai trivia

  • It takes just under eight hours to build a Qashqai, but you’ll also need the 390 machines that do all of the weldings on the production line.
  • The Qashqai name comes from a group of Persian nomads from the 15th Century. In the US, the Qashqai is known as the Rogue Sport.
  • The Nissan Qashqai is so fuel-efficient that you can drive from Land’s End to John O’Groats on a single tank of fuel (that’s 839 miles!). This isn’t a theory either, as it has been done in a 1.5dCi Nissan Qashqai.
  • The 7-seater version of the Qashqai, the Nissan Qashqai+2, got its release in 2009 and was an immediate hit with parents who wanted to use it for the school run.
  • In 2010, just three years after its debut at the Paris Motor Show, the Qashqai proved that it was one of the most popular compact crossovers in the country, with over 39,000 sales in the UK alone.
