What are Anti-lock Brake Pumps?
An anti-lock brake system pump is designed and used to prevent the wheels of any vehicle from blocking thus protecting the driver and passengers from accidental skidding. Alongside with the motor assembly they serve this simple but important purpose through a basic algorithm calculated around the voltage. The voltage is modulated when the vehicle speed is below the established speed imposed by the driver. This also happens when the vehicle is decelerating less than a predetermined deceleration threshold. Other important parts of the system are the connector, the output pulsation dampener and the stationary seal.
Anti-lock Brake Pump Connector
The ABS breaking unit uses a connector to transmit power to the Anti Lock Brake Pump from its circuit. The central piece of this mechanism is the cylindrical housing featuring a first and second end of its length. The cylindrical housing matches the distance between the pump and the circuit. The pins are mounted on the first end and connected electronically to the second end.
Anti-lock Brake Pump output pulsation dampener
The Anti-lock Brake Pump output pulsation dampening device has the function of cushioning the pulsations transmitted from the storage chamber via the spring operated accumulator. The dampening piston is cushioning low fluid pressure pulsations transmitted by the pressure source. If the pressure exceeds a the controlled limit, the seal is moved by the dampening piston to allow the passage of the fluid.
Stationary seal Anti-lock Brake Pump
A piston-type pump suitable for use in vehicle control systems contains a piston element sliding within a stepped bore of a pump body, leakage of fluid past the piston element being prevented through use of a stationary seal surrounding the piston element and located at the end of the larger diameter stepped bore and fixed at that position by the end of a plug which is preferably shaped so as to include within the plug the pump cavity. The outer end of the piston element is urged by a return spring contained within the pump cavity against an oscillatory driving unit. Inlet and outlet check valves ensure unidirectional flow of hydraulic fluid.
