What is an Air bag?
An airbag, SRS (Supplementary Restraint System), ACRS (Air Cushion Restraint System), SIR (Supplemental Inflatable Restraint). Is a safety device used to prevent injury to the driver or passengers in the event of a collision. The Air Bag release mechanism is connected to electrical sensors that will automatically deploy the Bag when a collision occurs. The standard frontal Bag is rapidly inflated with Air to cushion the force of impact on the head and upper portion of the vehicle occupants body. They take most of the force and protect the front passengers from hitting the windscreen, steering wheel and dashboard. The rear passenger's Air Bags will be fitted to the back of the seats in front of them. There are now a variety of Airbags to cushion side of the torso and other parts of the body.
