Airbag warning light
Problem:
Have you begun to notice the airbag warning light appearing on the dashboard? If so, this is most likely caused by faulty wiring underneath the seat.
Solution:
You will need to correctly identify which wiring is faulty, and fix the faulty wiring underneath the seat. This should remove the warning light from the dashboard.

Gear lever problems
Problem:
If you have noticed that the gear lever is stiff, then this is either due to faulty bushes, or a lack of lubrication. If the gear lever does not spring back to the centre, when putting it into neutral, but is stiff, this means you have one of these issues.
Solution:
You should first try to lubricate the lever, but if this does not fix the issue, then you will need to replace the bushes to solve the problem.
Difficulty level
Engine rattling noise
Problem:
On the petrol engine versions of the 147, the timing variator is known for failing. If this part fails, then you will be able to hear a loud rattling noise coming from the engine, which sounds more like a diesel engine. Is the problem in the video below, anything like yours?
Solution:
You will need to replace the timing variator, in order to fix the problem. The cam belt is due to be changed around every 30,000 miles, so it would be best to change the timing variator at the same time, saving you both time and money.
