About Trim

Trim is a general term for the cosmetic finish to the assembly method in the manufacture of vehicles. The trim tends to differ according to whether the vehicle is standard, mid-range or a luxury model.

Trim is found extensively on the interior and exterior of all vehicles.

Examples of Zafira Vauxhall trim, on the exterior are plastic bumpers, chrome and rubber strips that protect the vehicle from bumps and scrapes.

Interior trim includes upholstery, carpeting and door panels etc.

Zafira Vauxhall trim comes in different standards or levels, such as base, i.e. cloth upholstery, the least expensive; mid-level such as vinyl or faux leather upholstery, which is moderately expensive; and high end, the most expensive, which can include chrome strips, leather upholstery and wood grain trim.

Most trim is held in place with push pull fixings and/or screws.

Zafira Vauxhall trim is usually replaced for reasons of damage due to general wear and tear.

Vauxhall Zafira trivia

  • One of the members of pop band Hear' Say almost died in a Zafira! Danny Foster narrowly escaped injury when the car was engulfed in flames.
  • A turbocharged Zafira was unveiled in 2001 and was quickly recognised as the fastest minivan in Europe. The Zafira OPC could easily get from 0-62mph in 8.2 seconds.
  • The Mk1 Zafira was the first MPV to have seven seats, although there was criticism over the space that passengers sitting in those two extra seats actually had. However, considering that the Mk1 was only an inch longer than the Vauxhall Astra estate, the fact that it could squeeze in an extra two seats remains impressive.
  • Since its launch in 1999, there have been three generations, known as the Zafira A, B, and C.
  • If you bought a brand new Vauxhall Zafira 1.6 16v when it was released in January 2020, it would only have cost £14,320. That's about the same price as its main rival, the Astra estate.
