What is a quarter panel?
The quarter panel is part of the body panel of a car, and can be split into two different sections: front quarter panel and rear quarter panel. These panels are commonly made out of sheet metal, which are usually made in separate pieces, welded together which allows for easier changing in the emergency of damage such as a crash or rust. If they are not made of sheet metal then they are sometimes known to be made of fiberglass or fiber-reinforced plastic.
Quarter panel variations.
The rear quarter panel, also known as the 'rear wing' would be situated between the rear side door of the vehicle and the boot on both sides of the car. The front quarter panel is situated between the front door and the bonnet of the car on both sides of the vehicle. Both these panels should be relatively cheap to replace compared to other sheet metal panels on the vehicle.
