What is a Headlining?
A modular headliner assembly is for use with a motor vehicle, it attaches to the sunshade assemblies and fasteners for securing the modular headliner to motor vehicle body structure. The modular headliner is connected to the motor vehicle by means of snap-in fasteners.

The vehicle headliner is made up of several layers of materials intended to lessening the impact of the head in the case of an accident. This head impact countermeasure (HIC) layer of co-extruded thermoplastic and a rigid foam layer lays adjacent to the HIC layer and made of a thermoplastic. The layers are subsequently moulded together to form the headliner.

On the assembly line a headliner with a coating of adhesive on its upper surface is fixed to the roof of the vehicle as it moves along an assembly line by means of a jig connected to a conveyor system. While at the same time a support against the roof of the body to counteracts the pressure of the headliner against the ceiling. It removes the support and the support member, respectively, from the body at a second position of the assembly line, and returning the support to the first position.
