Audi TT Coupe Common Problems and Solutions
Steering Rack Knocking
Problem:
The steering rack is making a knocking sound as you drive. The knocking gets faster when you take a turn.
Solution:
This is a simple case of worn out bushings. Check your stabiliser bar bushings, upper control arm bushings, and the steering rack mounting bushings. You should be able to spot the worn bushings, and we have all three variations available in stock at all times for quick delivery.

Solution:
You will need to fit the revised coil pack, in order to resolve the issue.

Loss of power
Problem:
If you find that there is a lack of power when accelerating, or if there is a loss of power when driving at speeds over 70mph, then you have a problem with the air mass meter.
Solution:
You will need to identify if it is the probe that is causing the fault, or if it is the full meter at fault. Check the probe first, as this is the cheaper option to fix.

Suspension problems
Problem:
When you are driving over speed bumps, or rough surfaces and can hear a knocking noise coming from the suspension, this is caused by faulty anti-roll bar bushes.
Solution:

Squealing Brakes
Problem:
The front brakes make a squealing sound when applied.
Solution:
Don’t assume that this is a problem with the brake pads or discs. In fact, Audi claims that the squealing sound is totally normal. They even printed a pamphlet about brake noise, simply because so many people complained about it. It’s not affecting brake performance, but if the squealing gets too annoying, replacing your brake pads with a new set from our parts list will resolve the issue.
