BMW Z4 Coupe Common Problems and Solutions
Alarm problems
Problem:
On earlier versions of the Z4 there were known issues with either the alarm not working, or for the alarm to go off of its own accord. This is usually caused by faulty alarm modules and/or software issues.
Solution:
You are best to try to update the software first, but if this does not fix the problem, you will need to check the alarm modules and replace the faulty ones to sort the issue.

Rear suspension spring failure
Problem:
The bottom suspension spring at the rear is known for breaking off. If this spring is broken, that side of the vehicle might appear to be a little lower than usual. You are best to get underneath the wheel arch, in order to check for a broken spring. If it is broken, there will be a sharp edge sticking out. The video below shows a broken Z4 spring:
Solution:
Fitting a replacement rear suspension spring will fix the problem. We can help you to find a replacement rear suspension spring, at a very low price.

Lights condensation
Problem:
Both the front and rear lights on the Z4 have been known for having a build up of condensation. The first generation is most prone for the headlights and the second generation, the rear lights.
Solution:
You can use a blower fan to dry out the inside of the lens, but the condensation build up will happen again. One solution to this problem is to drill small holes at the bottom of the lens, so as to allow any future water build up to drain out.
