ABS system problems
Problem:

When you are driving over rough surfaces or bumps and you hear a knocking sound coming from the suspension, you have got a problem with the anti-roll bar links.
Solution:
You will need to fit replacement anti-roll bar links to fix this problem.

Problem:
If you are having problems with the engine misfiring or cutting out, the usual problem is with the Lambda probe which is known to only last around 8 years.
Solution:
You will need to replace the Lambda probe to sort this out.

Engine misfiring when idling
Problem:
You may have noticed that the engine on your Marea is misfiring particularly when idling. This is usually an indication that the spark plugs and leads will need replacing. This happens particularly when the car has been poorly serviced.
Solution:

Erratic idling
Problem:
If you have noticed that the engine on your Marea has been idling very erratically with the idling speed going up and down instead of remaining constant, you have a problem with the throttle body. This is usually caused on this vehicle by the printed circuit board corroding which leads to the erratic idling.
Solution:
You will need to fit a replacement throttle body to resolve this issue.
