Car Pulling To Left or Right (All Models With Lane Assist)
Problem:
While driving, you have to fight with the steering wheel because it tends to pull to one side.
Solution:
One of the most common issues reported with the i30 is easy to fix. The problem is that your lane assist function hasn't been turned off properly. Even if you disable it from the dashboard, the i30 still allows for limited lane assist. You need to go into your settings if you want to turn it off completely.

Solution:
This is very common to see, especially on older models. There are no repair options available here. You will need to choose the correct steering wheel from our list of i30 parts and replace it completely.

Juddering While Driving (All Diesels)
Problem:
The car judders when you accelerate or cruise.
Solution:
This is a common issue reported with the i30, and there isn’t much you can do about it yourself. The only solution is a full software update, so you'll need to take the car to a Hyundai specialist.

Windscreen condensation
Problem:
The windscreen on the i30 tends to have more condensation than usual. This issue occurs due to a failure of the windscreen seals, which allows water to enter the cabin. You may also notice damp patches on the carpets or other areas at the front of the car.
Solution:
You will need to replace the windscreen seals to fix the issue. If your car is still under warranty, Hyundai will repair it free of charge. Otherwise, it is your responsibility.

Hand brake failure
Problem:
If you find that the handbrake does not hold the weight of the car, especially on a hill, it should be reset at a dealer. When you apply the handbrake on a slope and it rolls back slightly, you should have this checked out as soon as possible.
Solution:
As mentioned earlier, you need to have the handbrake reset at a Hyundai dealer. This should be covered by the warranty.

Problem:
There are known issues with the radio in this car. Several reports indicate that the radio cannot find a signal and keeps searching as you drive. The video below shows another problem with the radio:
Solution:
If the radio is less than three years old, Hyundai will replace it under warranty; otherwise, you will need to send it off for repair.

Problem:
If you find that the air conditioning on your i30 isn't blowing ice-cold air on the colder settings, this is caused by a fault with the condenser. The condenser is situated behind the radiator and can be damaged by debris and stones, etc.
Solution:
You will need to replace the condenser if it's damaged. This will resolve the issue. We can assist you in finding a replacement condenser at a very reasonable price.

Stuck Handbrake
Problem:
The handbrake won’t release.
Solution:
This prompted a recall of the Hyundai i30, but only for models manufactured between January and February 2012. The issue stems from faulty sealing on the handbrake callipers. You will need to replace the callipers if your handbrake isn’t releasing, ensuring that the replacements are sealed correctly. We offer a selection of handbrake callipers for purchase.

Sunroof Won’t Open or Close
Problem:
You can’t get the electric sunroof to open, or it won’t close.
Solution:
The anti-pinch function, which is designed to prevent the sunroof from trapping your fingers, often malfunctions in i30s manufactured in 2018. You will need to order a replacement sunroof motor from our parts list and fit the faulty one.
