ABS warning light
Problem:
If the ABS warning light has appeared on your dashboard, the most likely cause is a faulty ABS wheel sensor. This part is known for failing, causing the warning light to appear on the dashboard.
Solution:
First of all you will need to run a diagnostic check to correctly identify which wheel the faulty sensor is on. Once you have identified which one it is, you will need to replace this sensor to remove the warning light from the dashboard. The video below shows to replace an ABS sensor:

Window regulator failure
Problem:
If you are finding that the electric windows on your Lantra are very sluggish going up and down, this is an indication of the window regulator failing. The windows should be moving smoothly but if not, you will most likely need to replace the window regulator.
Solution:
Fitting a replacement window regulator should resolve the issue.

Misfiring/poor starting
Problem:
There are known problems with the cylinder head valves on this car. They are known to get burned which causes misfiring and/or poor starting. You will be hearing the engine making a lot of spluttering noises and will be having poor engine idling. This can also cause difficulties starting the car.
Solution:
You will need to replace the cylinder head valves to resolve this issue.

Erratic idling
Problem:
The idle speed control valve is prone to failure on the Lantra. If you are having difficulty with the revs continually going up and down instead of remaining at a constant speed, this is your most likely cause. Another cause of this problem could be the cylinder head valves. You can read about this in the problem below.
