Water leaks from roof area
Problem:
The Compass is known for leaking in water around the roof area. This seems to be a particular problem around the dome light area, but there have also been reports of leaks at both the front and the rear of the roof.
Solution:
It is recommended that you check all grommets and plugs to see if this is the cause, and replace any grommets or plugs which look faulty. You could also re-seal around any roof seams using some silicone sealant. Another possible cause for the leaks could be the sunroof drain tubes, so you may want to check them as well, making any necessary adjustments or repairs as you find them.

Problem:
If you are hearing a rumbling noise coming from the wheels, this is an indication of worn out wheel bearings. This rumbling noise will be most noticeable when you are driving at speeds over 30mph and when you are turning corners at low speeds.
Solution:
If you replace the faulty wheel bearings, this should fix the problem.

Problem:
If you are having problems starting your vehicle, the alternator is known for failing on the Compass. This would be the first place to check on the vehicle.

Ball joint failure
Problem:
The ball joints are prone to failure on the Compass. The most noticeable way to tell if the ball joints have failed are when you hear a knocking noise coming from the suspension, particularly when you are driving around corners.
Solution:
