Bumpy Ride
Problem:
You can feel every bump in the road while driving, and the car leans to one side.
Solution:
The air suspension in the Evoque is a known problem, and most drivers will need to replace the worn air suspension system with traditional coil springs. While this can be a significant and challenging job to do yourself, there are many guides available that can walk you through each step, and you can easily purchase low-cost coils from our store.

Limited View On Rear Camera
Problem:
You're not seeing the full view from your reverse camera.
Solution:
The tailgate on the Evoque is well known for often being misaligned. Unfortunately, this also causes the rear camera to be incorrectly aligned, which significantly limits your view. While not a major problem, if you wish to fix it, you'll need to remove the tailgate and reinstall it more accurately. In some cases, you may need to purchase a complete replacement tailgate from our drop-down list of Evoque parts.

Struggling With Gear Changes
Problem:
It's becoming more difficult to change gears, as the gear stick is getting stiffer and stiffer.
Solution:
The gearbox is a common weak point for the Evoque, and they tend to wear out quickly. You'll need to find a replacement gearbox from our parts list, remove the worn one, and install a more effective unit.

Flywheel failure
Problem:
On vehicles equipped with the Start/Stop technology, the flywheel is likely to experience early wear due to frequent starting and stopping. If you feel excessive vibration through the clutch pedal, this is probably the most likely cause.
Solution:
Land Rover should repair this under warranty; otherwise, you will need to cover the repair yourself. We can assist you in finding a replacement flywheel at a very reasonable price.
Difficulty level
Tailgate alignment
Problem:
There are known issues with the tailgate alignment on the Evoque. This poor alignment can also cause the reverse camera on the dashboard to be slightly misaligned, preventing a full view.
Solution:
Correcting the alignment can be a time-consuming process, leading to high costs. If the vehicle is under warranty, Land Rover will repair the issue free of charge.

Automatic gearbox problems
Problem:
Problems with the automatic gearbox on the Evoque are quite common. These issues can range widely and may be caused by a software fault, actuator problems, or even more serious gearbox issues.
Solution:
If your vehicle is under warranty, you should take it to the dealer to get the problem fixed. Otherwise, the issue could range from a software update or a replacement actuator to a replacement gearbox.
Difficulty level
Door check strap rattling
Problem:
Do you hear a rattling noise coming from the door check strap when opening or closing the door? If so, the door check strap mounting is known to come loose on the Evoque. The check strap is the metal band connecting the inside of the door to the A-pillar of the vehicle.
Solution:
You need to tighten the door check strap to resolve the issue.
Difficulty level
Loss of Steering
Problem:
The steering wheel isn't as responsive as it ought to be.
Solution:
You have an issue with the knuckle on the lower control arm of the front suspension. The bolt securing it will likely have come loose and needs to be tightened. A Land Rover dealer will usually install a protection system for free to prevent the problem from recurring.
Difficulty level
Using too Much Fuel
Problem:
You have to fill up with fuel much more than you used to.
Solution:
Some Evoques built between May 2015 and January 2018 have a poorly designed fuel rail installed in the engine bay. These tend to leak significantly, and you will likely need to replace yours. Look for a new fuel rail on our website, have it delivered, and swap out the faulty component.
Difficulty level
Smell of Fuel in Car
Problem:
You can smell fuel inside your car and see fuel on the floor after you've been parked for a while.
Solution:
You have a loose locking ring, which means your fuel pump isn't securely held in place. The locking ring should be tightened, and you can do this yourself. There might also be damage to the fuel pump itself; if so, you'll need to order a new one from our parts page and replace the damaged unit.
Difficulty level
Wrong Fuel Level Readout
Problem:
Your fuel gauge is providing an incorrect reading.
Solution:
In most cases, this is simply a matter of ordering a replacement fuel sensor from us and swapping it with the faulty one. However, some Evoques experience issues with the fuel gauge system itself, which can also cause false readings. You will need to replace the entire system, which can be quite difficult.
Difficulty level
Loose Seat Belt
Problem:
The second-row seatbelt feels quite loose, even when secured.
Solution:
Several Evoques produced in 2020 had the incorrect seat belt retractor part fitted. You will need to replace it, which can be easily done by sourcing a new one from our Evoque parts page.
