Shock absorber failure
Problem:
If you can hear a knocking noise coming from the suspension as you drive over speed bumps or rough roads, the most likely cause of this problem are faulty shock absorbers.
Solution:
Replacing the shock absorbers, should sort the problem. We want to help you to find replacement ones, at a very low price. The video below will give you an idea on how to replace them yourself:

Dashboard rattle
Problem:
Have you noticed a rattling noise coming from the centre console in the centre of the dashboard? If so, there is a known issue with a clip failing. This clip is located behind the centre console and holds the wiring in place.
Solution:
You can either just live with this, or you will need to remove the dashboard, in order to fit a replacement clip.

2.2L diesel engine problems
Problem:
There are known issues with the 2.2L diesel engine on the IS. Have you noticed any of the following symptoms on your 2.2L diesel engine: rough running, loss of power, hesitancy or high engine temperatures. If you have one, or all of the above issues, then this is an indication of a problem with the pistons. This can be a very expensive repair.
Solution:
At the very least, you will need to replace the pistons. It might actually work out cheaper to purchase a replacement engine. We want to help you to find a replacement engine, at a very low price.

Coolant leak
Problem:
If you have noticed a leak in the coolant pipes, the coolant bypass hose is known for failing. The best way to tell if your vehicle has this problem, is that you will see pink staining around the coolant pipes at the front left of the engine.
Solution:
You will need to replace the coolant bypass hose, in order to fix the problem. You will also need to top up the coolant reservoir to a sufficient level between the MIN and MAX lines.
