Smoke From Dashboard

Problem:

Occasional smoke emerges from the dashboard, mainly around the ignition port.

Models affected:

Solution:

This caused a recall of Demioss manufactured between January 1989 and December 2002, and it can be very dangerous. It is caused by carbonised grease accumulating between the contact points in the ignition switch. This leads to heat building up. You will need to disassemble the ignition switch and apply lubrication. If there has been heat damage, then you will have to order a replacement ignition unit, which we always keep in stock.
