MAF sensor failure
Problem:
A failing MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor can cause low power and poor acceleration. It is advised to replace the MAF sensor on this vehicle every 50,000 miles. The MAF sensor measures both the amount of air passing through and its temperature. This helps the fuel injection system adjust the fuel mixture, especially in cold weather or high-altitude conditions.
Solution:
Although it is advised to replace the MAF sensor every 50,000 miles, this issue can sometimes be fixed by cleaning the MAF sensor with some MAF sensor cleaner. If this does not work, you will need to buy a new sensor. Watch the video below to see how to clean the MAF sensor.

Squeaky boot
Problem:
If you hear a squeaking noise when opening and closing the boot, it is caused by the boot hinges not being sufficiently lubricated.
Solution:
You will need to lubricate the boot hinges to fix this issue. You can easily use some WD40 for this.

Headlight bulb failure
Problem:
The headlights on the third generation of the C-Class are gas discharge headlights. The bulbs used in these headlights are known for allowing moisture to enter, which can cause the bulbs to become faulty.
Solution:
Fitting a replacement bulb will fix the headlights, but even with the new bulb fitted, they can still be vulnerable to moisture.

Folding mirror problems
Problem:
The electric folding mirrors on the C-Class often encounter issues. They are particularly known for producing a loud creaking noise when folding away, but may also fail to fold at all. The creaking sound is caused by a problem with the mirror wheels.
Solution:
You will need to fit a replacement wheel to fix the issue, but if the mirror is not folding at all, then you might need to buy a replacement folding mirror mechanism. We can assist you in finding this part at a very low price.

Clunking Noise From Gearbox
Problem:
You can hear a deep clunking noise coming from your gearbox.
Solution:
This issue is common in Mercedes models with the optional seven-speed automatic, and the sound stems from a faulty transmission valve. You should order the part promptly, as it will wear out and potentially damage the entire gearbox. Replacing the valve is quick and straightforward, and you can obtain the parts from us. However, replacing the entire gearbox is considerably more complicated.

Hesitant Acceleration
Problem:
The car accelerates unevenly with hesitation.
Solution:
This usually affects only BlueEFFICIENCY diesel models and is caused by a worn fuel injector. Replacing a fuel injector may take some time, but it's simpler than you might think. It's much more economical to buy a cheap replacement from us and fit it yourself rather than take the C-Class to a mechanic.
