Mercedes-Benz CL Coupe Common Problems and Solutions
Misfiring
Problem:
The coil pack has been known to fail on this car. If the coil pack is starting to fail you will be noticing such symptoms as the engine misfiring and/or cutting out. You may also be noticing that it is having a very irregular idle.
Solution:
You will need to fit a replacement coil pack to resolve the issue.

Early rust
Problem:
The bodywork on this car is known for rusting very early. It has been known for rust to appear as early as 2 or 3 years after the car is new. The main areas for rust are the wheel arches and the bottoms of the doors.
Solution:
It is recommended to get the rust treated asap, as it will be a much more expensive repair to have done if the rust spreads. Have a specialist treat the rust issue for you.

ABC/PAS tandem pump failure
Problem:
The ABC PAS (Power Assisted Steering) tandem pump is prone to failure on the CL Coupe. If this pump has started to fail, you will be noticing that the steering has become extremely heavy. If this issue is not resolved quickly it will have an affect on the front suspension components.
Solution:
You will need to fit a replacement ABC PAS tandem pump to resolve the issue. This can be a very expensive repair, but we can help you find a replacement pump at a very low price.

Starting problems/engine management warning light
Problem:
The crankshaft position sensor can fail on the CL Coupe. If this part is not operating as it should, you will most likely have both of the following symptoms: the engine management warning light will have appeared on the dashboard and/or you will be having starting problems.
Solution:
