MINI Clubman Common Problems and Solutions

Solution:
As mentioned above, if your vehicle is still under warranty, BMW will replace the universal joint free of charge. If you are not covered, you are responsible for the cost of the repair.

Problem:
If you are hearing a rattling noise coming from the engine, it will most likely be caused by a problem with the timing chain and possibly the tensioners. Does the problem in the video below seem anything like your issue?
Solution:
You will need to replace the timing chain and inspect the tensioners to see if they need replaced too.

Clutch problems
Problem:
The clutch on this vehicle is known for wearing down very prematurely. In some cases it has been known for failing as early as 50,000 miles and showing no early warning signs of a possible failure. If your clutch has failed, you will need to fit a replacement one to resolve the issue.
Solution:
As mentioned above, you need to fit a replacement clutch to sort this problem. We would like to help you find a replacement clutch at a very low price.

Diesel additive tank leaking
Problem:
On the diesel version of the Mini Clubman it is known for the diesel additive tank to leak. If you have noticed that there is an orange/golden liquid leaking onto the ground, this is caused by the leaking diesel additive tank.
Solution:
You will need to replace the diesel additive tank to fix the problem.
