Swerving While Braking
Problem:
The car swerves when you press the brakes. It also feels unstable when driving at high speed.
Solution:
Either of these signs indicates that your suspension urgently needs replacing. The suspension on a Skyline is quite durable, but it will wear over time. Check our parts list for a new suspension system, and the car will soon return to normal.

Noisy Engine
Problem:
The engine has become much louder, and your oil pressure has decreased.
Solution:
The oil pump on the Skyline is quite prone to failure, so you'll need to order a replacement. We always keep oil pumps in stock for the Skyline and can deliver promptly.

Rattling From Rear
Problem:
You can hear a rattling noise coming from the rear of the car.
Solution:
This is one of the most common faults on the Skyline and is caused by a loose bearing at the end of the flywheel shaft. That loose bearing allows the shaft to move and vibrate within its casing. If left unaddressed, the bearing will become increasingly damaged and eventually lead to more issues. You won’t need to replace the entire flywheel, as you can order a replacement bearing directly from us. Although it's a tricky job to install, it is achievable with some patience.

Gearbox problems
Problem:
One of the main concerns with the Skyline is gearbox problems. The primary issues are solenoid failure and cir-clip failure, which can both cause severe damage to the gearbox.
Solution:
The cheapest solution to these problems is to fit a replacement gearbox. We can help you find a replacement gearbox at a very low price.

Problem:
A common issue on the R32 Skyline is headlights not functioning correctly. This is usually caused by a fault with the main headlight switch.
Solution:
The first step is to remove the switch and clean the contacts. If this doesn't resolve the issue, you'll need to fit a replacement switch.

Oil pump failure
Problem:
It is known that some of the older Skylines have oil pump failures.
Solution:
You will need to install a replacement oil pump to fix the problem.

Power loss/poor running
Problem:
If you've noticed that the car is running poorly and there is a loss of power, this is usually caused by a problem with the coil pack. Watch the video below to see someone else experiencing an issue with the coil pack.
Solution:
Replacing the coil pack should fix the problem.

Starting/idling problems
Problem:
If you are having trouble starting the car and it is ticking over very roughly and vibrating, or if you have noticed that it is idling erratically, the usual cause of this is the AAC valve.
Solution:
You will need to remove the AAC valve and clean it thoroughly. This should resolve the issue.
