Malfunction Dashboard Readouts
Problem:
The displays on your dashboard are giving you the wrong information.
Solution:
This will be a minor glitch in your steering ECU. Disconnect it, count to 100, and reconnect it. This should resolve the issue.

Beeping Sound (All Models with Multi-Mode Transmission)
Problem:
While driving and accelerating, you can hear a loud and frequent beeping noise. There are no warning lights illuminated on your dashboard, though.
Solution:
One of the more common issues with the 107s that have multi-mode transmission, this will be caused by clutch wear. In most cases, you will need to replace the entire clutch system, which you can find easily in our store.

Car Has Stopped
Problem:
You are driving your car, but it suddenly stops and won't restart.
Solution:
There's a chance that this is due to a battery that's reached its end of life, in which case you will need to buy a replacement. We always have batteries in stock and can deliver wherever your car is. However, before you change the battery, it's sometimes worth having a quick check of your idle speed control valve. If it's dirty or damaged, then you may get away with cleaning or replacing that, which can be a lot cheaper.

Whirring Sound
Problem:
You can hear a whirring sound when you turn the ignition key, and it sometimes takes multiple attempts to start the engine.
Solution:
Check your battery terminals to make sure that they are all clean and functioning. If they seem fine, then have a look at your starter motor wiring, which may have become damaged or separated. If those look normal, then the problem is the starter motor itself, which you will need to order from our parts page and replace.
Difficulty level
Extremely Loud Engine
Problem:
The engine is making a very loud noise while running.
Solution:
You have a cracked catalytic converter. This is very common on the 107 and is caused by the heat of the manifold affecting the weld that holds the catalytic converter in place. You'll need to order a new catalytic converter from us and install it. It's a good idea to buy a bracket to hold the catalytic converter in place so that you don't keep having to repeat the repair.

Power steering problems
Problem:
You may find that the power steering stops working, or the steering can feel very heavy at times. This is caused by a problem with the power steering pump.
Solution:
Strangely enough, as a temporary solution, a hard knock with a heavy hammer can get it going again, but the best thing to do is to get a replacement pump fitted.
Difficulty level
Poor idling
Problem:
The 107 is known for having irregular idling, where the revs are going up and down instead of remaining constant. This problem is caused by the idle control valve.
Solution:
You will need to fit a new idle control valve, in order to sort the problem.
Difficulty level
Excessive front Tyre wear
Problem:
The tyres of the Peugeot 107 are known for wearing down, very quickly.
Solution:
You will need to keep a close eye on the tread depth of the front tyre, which should not go below the legal limit depth of 1.6mm. These cars usually need the front tyres changed every 15,000 miles.
Difficulty level
Airbag warning light
Problem:
If you have noticed that the airbag warning light is flashing on the dashboard, then this is usually due to a fault with the firing unit, on either the passenger or driver's airbag.
Solution:
You will need a diagnostic check done, in order to correctly identify which one is at fault. Then you will need to replace the faulty firing unit. If the car is still under warranty it will be fixed free of charge, otherwise you will have to pay for the repair.
Difficulty level
Water leaks
Problem:
If you have noticed that there is water leaking into the cabin, then there is probably an issue with the water seals. They are known to fail on the doors and the rear hatchback, which causes the leak. The water leak is most likely to be on the front and rear foot wells and inside the boot.
Solution:
If your car is still under warranty, Peugeot should fix the problem free of charge, otherwise you will need to replace the seals.
Difficulty level
Exhaust problems
Problem:
It is not unusual on these cars, to get problems with the exhaust. If you can hear a low sort of growling noise coming from the rear exhaust, then you will need to replace it.
Solution:
As mentioned above, you will need to replace the rear back box of the exhaust system. Watch the video below, to give you an indication of how to change it:

Detached Axle
Problem:
The rear axle has dropped off the car.
Solution:
This was caused by a non-compliant weld on the rear cross member of the axle, and on the off-chance that your 107 is still under warranty, Peugeot will repair it for free. If it's not under warranty, then you will need to browse our store for a replacement axle and ensure that it is welded into place correctly.
Difficulty level
Loss of Steering Control
Problem:
The steering wheel doesn't work properly, and you may feel bumps in the road more obviously.
Solution:
If your 107 was built in the last half of 2013, then it's likely that you have a front shock absorber rod that's got an internal fault. You will have to find a replacement rod on our parts list, but you may also have to replace both of the front shock absorbers too.
