Oil leak
Problem:
If you have noticed that there is an oil leak on the floor, this is usually caused by a gearbox oil seal.
Solution:
You will need to take the engine and gearbox out to fix this, and replace the faulty oil seal. However, this can be a rather expensive job.

Suspension problems
Problem:
You may have noticed that there is a knocking noise coming from the suspension, when you are driving over rough surfaces, or speed bumps. This problem is caused by a fault with either the rear drop links, or ball joints failing.
Solution:
You will need to check which is at fault, the ball joint, or the drop link. Once you have identified the cause, you will need to fit a replacement part to resolve the issue.

Headlights rusting
Problem:
It is common for the headlights to rust on these cars. You will see the rust on the back mirrors of the headlights.
Solution:
The only way to sort this is to fit replacement headlights, or you can just live with the rust. The choice is yours.

Starting/Cutting out problems
Problem:
The most common cause of the problem with the engine cutting out, and with it not starting, is to do with the fuel pump failing.
Solution:
The fuel pump needs to be replaced, so as to sort out this problem.

Speedo needle jumping
Problem:
When you are driving along, if you notice that the speedo needle is jumping, rather than remaining steady, this is an indication of a faulty speedo cable.
Solution:

Wet carpets in front foot wells
Problem:
If you have noticed that the carpets in the front foot wells are damp, then the usual cause is a leak from the heater matrix. This will eventually affect the heating as well.
Solution:
You will need to replace the heater matrix, in order to resolve this issue.
