Peugeot 806 Common Problems and Solutions
Rear window wiper problems
Problem:
If you are finding that the rear window wiper is staying on intermittently, then you have a problem with the window wiper stalk switch.
Solution:
Replacing the window wiper stalk switch will sort this out.

Erratic idling
Problem:
Peugeot vehicles are known for having problems with the idling not remaining constant, but going up and down erratically. This problem is caused by either a faulty idle control valve, or throttle position sensor.
Solution:

Suspension problems
Problem:
If you have noticed that there is a knocking noise coming from the suspension, when you are driving over rough surfaces, or speed bumps, then you most likely have a faulty bottom ball joint.
Solution:
Replacing the bottom ball joint should resolve the issue.

Differential problems
Problem:
If you have noticed that when you are driving down a hill and you drop into 3rd gear, that by removing your foot from the accelerator, you hear a subsequent whirring noise, then you have an issue with the differential.
Solution:
You will need to replace the differential, in order to resolve this problem.

Drive shaft failure
Problem:
When you are pulling away and the steering wheel is on full lock, you may hear a clicking, or knocking noise coming from the drive shaft area. This problem means that the drive shaft is failing, as well as the CV joints.
Solution:
Fitting a replacement drive shaft and CV joints should fix the problem.

Side sliding doors failure
Problem:
If you have noticed that the side sliding doors on your vehicle are not working as they should, then there is a problem with the runners. This is a common failure on the 806.
Solution:
You will need to fit replacement runners, in order to resolve the problem.
