Rover 100 Common Problems and Solutions
Immobiliser problems
Problem:
If you are having problems with the immobiliser not switching off with the key fob, there are known issues with the key fob failing on the Rover 100.
Solution:
The first thing to try would be replacing the battery in the key fob. If this does not fix the problem you will need to either have the fob reset, or purchase a replacement key fob to resolve the issue. Watch the video below for an idea on how to replace the battery on the key fob:

Heater problems
Problem:
A common issue on this car is for the heating not to work on all settings. If you are finding that your heating is only working on one or some of the settings, it is due to a fault with the heater resistor.
Solution:
If you fit a replacement heater resistor, this should sort the problem.

Starting problems
Problem:
There are known issues with the fuel pump on the 100. If there is an issue with this part, you will notice that the car is not starting at all. The fuel pump is located inside the fuel tank on this car, and the connections to the pump are known for corroding, causing this to fail. There has also been reports of the actual pump failing.
Solution:
The first thing to try replacing is the connections. If this does not work you most likely have a faulty fuel pump. Replacing the fuel pump should fix the problem.

Central locking problems
Problem:
The central locking solenoid is prone to failure on the Rover 100. If you are finding that one of the doors is not locking, or unlocking when you activate the central locking, the solenoid may have failed on that particular door.
Solution:
Fitting a replacement central locking solenoid will resolve the issue. We can help you find a replacement solenoid at a very low price.
