Rover 100 Common Problems and Solutions

Immobiliser problems

Problem:

If you are having problems with the immobiliser not switching off with the key fob, there are known issues with the key fob failing on the Rover 100.

Starting problems

Problem:

There are known issues with the fuel pump on the 100. If there is an issue with this part, you will notice that the car is not starting at all. The fuel pump is located inside the fuel tank on this car, and the connections to the pump are known for corroding, causing this to fail. There has also been reports of the actual pump failing.

The first thing to try replacing is the connections. If this does not work you most likely have a faulty fuel pump. Replacing the fuel pump should fix the problem.

Central locking problems

Problem:

The central locking solenoid is prone to failure on the Rover 100. If you are finding that one of the doors is not locking, or unlocking when you activate the central locking, the solenoid may have failed on that particular door.
