Volvo C30 Common Problems and Solutions
Rear suspension problems
Problem:
If you hear a knocking or high-pitched squeaking noise coming from the rear suspension when driving over speed bumps, you have an issue with the bushes on either the upper or lower suspension arms.
Solution:
Once you have identified which bushes are failing, you will need to fit replacements to resolve the issue.
Difficulty level
Anti-skid warning light
Problem:
The ABS pump module is known to fail on the Volvo C30. If the anti-skid warning light appears on the dashboard, this is usually the cause of the problem.
Solution:
Run a diagnostic check to confirm whether this is the faulty part. If it is, you will need to replace the ABS pump module to resolve the issue.

Air conditioning failure
Problem:
If the air conditioning is not producing ice-cold air on the coldest setting, it is most likely due to a problem with the condenser.
Solution:
You will need to fit a replacement condenser to fix this issue. We can assist you in finding a replacement condenser at very affordable prices.

DPF warning light
Problem:
The DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) can become blocked, causing the DPF warning light to appear on the dashboard. To burn off the particulates, the engine needs to be run at consistent high revs. Using the vehicle mainly around town rather than on open roads is often a key factor in this problem.
Solution:
You will need to take the vehicle onto an open road to burn off the unwanted particles. Driving at around 2500rpm in fourth gear for about 5-10 miles should allow the DPF to heat up enough to burn off these particles. This should also turn off the DPF warning light on the dashboard. If it does not turn off the warning light, you will need to remove the DPF and clean it manually. Watch the video below to see how this is done:
