Nissan Serena Overview

The Nissan Serena is classed as a large MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle) and is produced by the Japanese manufacturers The Nissan Motor Company. These vehicles are also known as 5-door people carriers, which began life as more compact MPV’s and have grown in size over its lifetime. They can come in 7 or 8 seaters. These vehicles are very spacious and versatile with good sliding doors at the rear, which makes for easy access in tight spaces. They have good driving positions and the 8 seater version is unusual but good for transporting that extra person. How did your Nissan Serena rate compared with whats said above?

Nissan Serena History

The Mark I (1991-2001) was a front-wheel drive vehicle but was also available in 4WD which improved the handling. This was the only version to be available in the UK. This vehicle was discontinued in the UK and replaced with the Nissan Primastar, which is a rebadged Vauxhall Vivaro or Renault Scenic. The Mark II (1999-2005) had different engines available and had a different look than its predecessor. It had a slight makeover in 2002. The Mark III (2005-10) has a much more modern look than previous versions and won MPV of the year from 2007-09 in Japan. The Mark IV (2010-present) is the current version in production and has a great new hybrid engine available, offering great fuel economy.
