Renault Extra Overview

The Renault Extra is classed as a small panel van which was produced by the French automobile manufacturing company Renault. This van was in production from 1985 to 2000 and is based on the extremely popular Renault 5 supermini. The Extra was introduced on the second generation of the Renault 5. These little vans were very well accepted due to their cheap price and cheap running costs, especially the diesel version. They have quite good space in the rear and in the cabin, considering they were based on the small Renault 5. Replacement parts are cheap to buy, they are well built and seem to last a while. There may not be many on the roads these days, but are good little vans. Does this sound like your experience of this van?

Renault Extra History

The Renault Extra was made available in 1985 and was known as the Renault Express in most other European countries, and the Renault Rapid in German speaking countries. This vehicle was based on the second generation Renault 5 supermini car, which was by now an extremely popular little car across Europe. There were quite a few different version, from high roofs to refrigerator vans. This van was designed as a replacement for the ageing Renault 4 F6 panel van and it continued for a few more years after the end of the Renault 5 in 1996. This vehicle was then discontinued in 2000.
