The Ford Tourneo Connect is the LAV (Leisure Activity Vehicle) version of the Transit Connect small panel van. The first generation was released in 2002 and the new second generation model which was released in 2013 is a vast improvement over its predecessor. The new Tourneo Connect is built on a car-based platform which makes it feel more like the Ford C-Max. Although the Tourneo Connect is based on a panel van, this new version has taken it more away from the panel van look with some stylish curves and a better quality interior design. The Tourneo Connect is a 5-seater people carrier with prices beginning at £14,245 but if you want a larger vehicle capable of seating more people, there is a 7-seater Grand Tourneo Connect available from £16,745. The latest Tourneo Connect is available in three trim levels: Style, Zetec and Titanium. In terms of available engines, there are two variants of the 1.6L TDCi diesel with 95PS or 115PS. There are two EcoBoost petrol engines available: 1.0L 100PS and the 1.6L 150PS. One of the best things about this being based on a small panel van, is that there is plenty of space inside and really good head room. As mentioned above, it has a better quality interior design and comes with a touch screen infotainment system. Other similar type vehicles are the Citroen Berlingo Multispace, Fiat Doblo and Peugeot Partner Tepee, but we think that this latest version of the Tourneo Connect is the pick of the bunch. What is your opinion of the new Tourneo Connect and do you think that it can compete in the competitive MPV market?
