The main improvement over the original 5th generation model is the more efficient engines available. It is said that these new EU6 compliant engines are up to 23% more efficient than the previous available engines.
The new engine line-up for the 2014 Polo is as follows: There are two different versions of the 3 cylinder 1.0L MPI engine with either 60 or 75PS; There are two versions of the 4 cylinder 1.2L TSI engine with either 90 or 110PS; The final petrol engine available is the 150PS 1.4L TSI. There are two 1.4L 3 cylinder TDi diesel engines available with either 75 or 90PS.
There are 6 different trim levels available:

The Blue GT is the top of the range Polo which is only available with the 1.4L TSI petrol engine, with the top version being coupled to the 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. This will set you back £19,715.
The Blue GT will be replaced as the top model when the GTi gets released later in 2014.
The available gearboxes for the new Polo are 5 or 6 speed manual and 7-speed DSG automatic.
