The Renault Captur is a mini SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) which has been in production since 2013. Renault have marketed this vehicle as an 'urban crossover'. This vehicle is part of a joint venture with Nissan and is pretty much the same vehicle as the Nissan Juke. The Captur shares its platform with the latest version of the Renault Clio Estate although the platform for this vehicle has been stretched slightly with a wider track. The Captur is a very good looking vehicle which has stylish curves and a quality interior design. There are several different exterior colour combinations, 24 to be exact and they are available with three different roof colour designs. The contrasting colours make for a very appealing looking exterior design. There are three different matching interior and exterior trims which have the following names: Miami, Manhattan and Arizona. Inside the car there is a full sliding bench which gives plenty of space in the rear when slid right back and offers plenty of storage space in the boot when slid right forward. When slid forward it gives 455 litres of boot space and when right back it still offers a decent 377 litres. There are some very good engines available including the 0.9 and 1.2L TCE petrol engines and the 1.5L dCi engine. The new 1.2L petrol engine is pretty nifty and is fitted with a 6-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. This engine offers 120bhp and performs pretty well on both small windy roads and the motorway. The 1.5L diesel is very well refined and offers 90bhp. It is claimed that this diesel engine can give up to 76mpg. Prices for buying the Captur range from £12,495 to £18,695. If you are after a smart looking crossover SUV then having a look at the Renault Captur is a must. Have a look at the 2014 Renault Captur video below:
