Audi 90 Overview
The Audi 90 is classed as a compact executive car which was produced by the German automobile manufacturing company Audi. Audi is part of the larger Volkswagen group. The Audi 90 is the upmarket version of the Audi 80 and was available from 1984 to 1991. This vehicle was available in two variations: avant (estate) and saloon. The first version was built on the Volkswagen B2 platform and second on the B3 platform respectively. Although the Audi 90 was discontinued in 1991 for the European market, it continued to be on sale in North America until 1998. The vehicle was very well built and had decent fuel economy. The steering and handling was excellent and they gripped to the road extremely well. The space in the rear passenger area was not too good but it was reasonably comfortable otherwise. Audi 90 History
The first generation (1984-86) Audi 90 was introduced as a more upmarket version of the Audi 80. It was designed on the Volkswagen B2 platform, the same as the Volkswagen Passat. When Audi facelifted the current Audi 80 in 1984, they released the 90. The main differences were the larger engines on the 90.
The second generation (1987-91) was built on a different platform, the Volkswagen Group B3 platform. This version was more aerodynamic and had a galvanised body. The 90 had several different styling features from the 80, making it easy to tell the difference. These included such things as the rear end and grille designs.

The Audi 90 was available with the following engines: 2.0, 2.2 or 2.3L petrol and 1.6L diesel
engines. The 1.6L diesel engine was the most economical, and the petrol engines were considered quite good compared with some competitors in the compact executive class.
