Fiat Seicento Overview

The Fiat Seicento is classed as a city car and was produced by the Italian car manufacturing company Fiat. This car was rebadged as the Fiat 600 from 2005-2010 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the original Fiat 600. These cars look very cute and are very cheap to run. They are also cheap to buy and have a well designed interior. This is not the most accomplished city car on the market but well worth considering if you are after a really small car which is cheap to run. Does this sound similar to your Fiat Seicento?

Fiat Seicento History

The Fiat Seicento was first produced in 1998 as a replacement for the Fiat Cinquecento. The Seicento took many of its design features from its predecessor, keeping the same engines, chassis but was slightly larger than the Cinquecento. This vehicle was a lot curvier than the Cinquecento but wasn’t seen as being as cute as its predecessor. This car scored very low in Euro safety tests, 1.5 out of 5 stars. In 2001 this car received a bit of a makeover and in 2004 it was withdrawn from the UK market as the new Fiat Panda became popular in this market. In 2005 the Fiat Seicento was renamed the Fiat 600 and it had some slight changes made to the front end. This car ceased production in 2010 and had no direct replacement.

Fuel Economy

There were three different engines available for the Fiat Seicento: 0.9 and 1.1L petrol engines and the Elettra electric engine. The electric engine is obviously the most economical of the range and the newer 1.1L Fire offered up to 47mpg. How did your Seicento fair in terms of fuel economy?
