Nissan Silvia Overview

The Nissan Silvia is classed as a sports coupe which was produced by the Japanese automobile manufacturing company Nissan. This vehicle was built on the Nissan S-platform and was in production from 1974-2002. There was an earlier version of the Silvia in production from 1964 to 1968. These cars are very classy looking sports coupes, which have real high performance engines with great acceleration. They are comfortable cars with a good interior design, but they do lack space in the rear passenger area. They are quite affordable cars which are well worth considering for a car of this class. Does this sound like your experience of this car?

Nissan Silvia History

The first ever Nissan Silvia was introduced in 1964 and was based on the Nissan Fairlady. These cars were hand built, with each of the 554 built having individual features making each one unique. Production ceased in 1968. The next version of the Silvia was the first to be built on the Nissan S-platform and was known as the S10 (1975-79). The S110 (1979-83) changed the look of the Silvia. The S12 (1984-88) gave the Silvia a really sporty look. The S13 (1989-94) was the first of the Silvia versions which would no longer use the Silvia name in Europe. The S14 (1995-2000) was lower and wider than its predecessor. The S15 (1999-2002) was the final version of the Silvia. Production ceased in 2002 and this version was only officially available in Japan.
